Planned: Jupi-Lis seventh litter – Jamaal x Hedda
“Straws & Umbrellas”

We are very happy and excited to reveal our litterplans for the summer of 2025. This will be our South African import Heddas first litter and we have chosen the handsome Jamaal as sire. Jamaal is a german male born in 2015 which means he is 10 years old this year. He has been healthy his whole life which is a very positive thing. Jamaal is very true to type – calm,regal and with moderate integrity. He is forthcoming and open but not overly eager towards or interested in strangers. Jamaal has 5 litters since before in Germany, Poland and Czech republic. He inherits his overall good mentality and his sound physique to his offspring. His showcareer started late – he was five years old – and even if it isn’t his favourite thing to do he always does it with pleasure. He is to this date German, Turkish and International (C.I.B) showchampion. Something he does love is coursing and he was Club ELSA:s coursing master years 2017-2021 and even if he isn’t able to participate as much today, due to his age, than before he is always eager to go get that bunny! Jamaal lives with his owners Stefanie and Yps and his older halfbrother Bakiri outside of Kiel in the north of Germany.

Hedda is a sweet girl with lots of energy. She loves attention in all forms whether it is showing, agility or just hang around at the stables with us. She is not afraid of anything and thinks life is a party. There isn’t much that bothers her. She is very interested in food and is easy and fun to train and work with.

When we searched for a male for Hedda and found Jamaal we didn’t just fall for his great personality, we also think his pedigree is quite interesting. There are many nice dogs represented. His grand-father on his mothers side Rachral Abayomi Hintza for example. He was also the sire of our Misti (2007-2018) who was one of the best dogs we’ve ever had. She truly had an outstanding mentality. We also find that the dogs in Jamaals pedigree isn’t overly used (which increases the genetic diversity) and that was also something we found positive.

We think Jamaal will positivly balance Hedda both mentally and physically. We expect puppies with excellent temperament, a lot of energy and a will to work – both with their bodies and their brains. They will most likely have moderate guarding instinct and if we’d have to guess – they will probably like chasing stuff like game and other fun things (like birds and blowing leafs!). They will most likely, like mos ridgebacks, be giant pains as puppies and youngsters and then one day they just grow up and become the best companions ever.

Hedda and Jamaal had a date on the the 11:th of April. If everything goes well we hope to be able to welcome puppies around 11:th of June.

“Jamaal is a handsome dog, gentle with everyone – both people and other dogs. He is funny and never aggressive. Loves to cuddle and if he could choose – he would stay in bed until 11 AM every day. In situations with new people, crowds and new dogs he always stays calm and friendly. He has a lot of energy and loves coursing and any kind of action. He was the RR-clubs coursingmaster for many years in the row.
As a stud dog he is very gentle. He gives good bones and teeth, deep chests and a nice color. All together I would say he is the perfect gentleman and we are very much looking forward for this combination”

“From the beginning Hedda has shown us what a remarkable girl she is. She loves attention,cuddling, people in general and other animals. She gets along very well with both our other dogs and our two cats. She is sweet and very brave – not afraid of anything. Very easy to bring along and handle in every environment. Like most young ridgebacks she is always hungry, still quite intensive and also very interested in game and hunting. Besides of showing, which she has proven to excel at, we have also introduced her to game tracking and agility. Both which she loves and is very good at.
Healthwise Hedda has been completely sound her whole life. No problems with allergies and no sensitive stomach.”
